Ministry Goals
Work-Bee Groups
Under the umbrella of the "Brother's Keeper principle" and wonderful counsel, we would like to propose a new program. It will be called: "ADOPT A SHUT-IN" (ASI). Many of our members suffering from involuntary isolation have left many friends behind, who are still active members in our church. We would like to recruit at least four (4) of those friends to adopt a shut-in. Each adopting member's responsibility will be to call their friend once a week in a rotating pattern. These calls are designed to foster and strengthen those friendships, while minimizing the effects of isolation and sadness.
Recruitment
Recruit a base group of fifty-five members or more, who will be willing to actively participate in this visitation plan. This group will be divided into eleven (11) small groups making it possible to reach the targeted eleven homes. Each group will rotate monthly and visit a different individual/family each month. This will clearly demonstrate that our church family is interested in their well-being. The visiting time will be divided into a greeting time upon arrival, a song service, followed by a homely, a closing song and a prayer. We envision the participation of our Pathfinders in this wonderful ministry as well.
Establish
Establish work-bee groups to assist in necessary house chores among this group, whenever necessary. The success of this ministry lies within our hands and hearts. We are told in Testimonies Treasures vol. 1 p.30.1
Quarterly Subscription
Regular spiritual literature and ministry updates delivered to your homeProvide an ongoing subscription to those who are desirous of receiving our Sabbath School Quarterly.
Visitation
Provide one monthly visitation to our shut-ins (at a minimum).
Homebound Support
Designate the third (3rd) Sabbath of each month as our visitation day.
Errands Help
Provide any other services that may be detected by the groups during their visitation time.
Communion
Provide the Communion Service, to coincide when the general congregation celebrates this sacred ritual.
