Family: Heart of the Church

We are told that “Society is composed of families, and is what the heads of families make it. Out of the heart are 'the issues of life'; and the heart of the community, of the church, and of the nation is the household. The well-being of society, the success of the church, the prosperity of the nation, depend upon home influences.” Ministry of Healing, 349.

It is no wonder that Satan is working so hard to destroy our families. He knows that if he can dismantle the family he is actually harming the apple of God's eye, the church.

Many of the truths of the Bible are taught in the context families. The doctrine of creation, the Sabbath, the church, the last days, and many others find their We understand from the Apostle Paul that the relationship that Christ has with His church is to be replicated in the home. (See Ephesians 5:25-33).

God's ideal for human families is to be "symbols of the family in heaven." Adventist Home, 17. 
We understand that God created men and women to be connected in the closest bonds possible in the marriage relationship and that "home should be a little heaven on earth." 3 Testimonies, 539.

What words come to your mind when you think of heaven?

Those are some of the words that God wants to describe our homes - in spite of the challenges we face on this planet.
