Mission Matters August 4

Acts 1:8 - "But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth."

Steps to Christ, 78.   “No sooner does one come to Christ than there is born in his heart a desire to make known to others what a precious friend he has found in Jesus, the saving and sanctifying truth cannot be shut up in his heart.”

1 Selected Messages, 121.   “A revival of true godliness among us is the greatest and most urgent of all our needs. To seek this should be our first work. There must be earnest effort to obtain the blessing of the Lord, not because God is not willing to bestow His blessing upon us, but because we are unprepared to receive it. Our heavenly Father is more willing to give His Holy Spirit to them that ask Him, than are earthly parents to give good gifts to their children.”

If there is one work more important than another, it is that of getting our publications before the public, thus leading them to search the Scriptures. Missionary work—introducing our publications into families, conversing, and praying with and for them—is a good work. —The Colporteur Evangelist, 80.

This month’s emphasis is Cashiers & Carts! Give tracts to cashiers. There are a few simple things to say as you give the cashier a tract:

 - “Here is a little gift for you"
 - “This is something I read, and I think you’ll like it”
 - “This is for the help today!”

Make sure you also leave literature in your shopping carts as you leave the store, or put tracts on multiple carts!

Glow Ministry Ideas

• Go to state fairs and do mass distribution of GLOW.
• Go to stores and give “An Intelligent Faith” (AIF) to back-to-school shoppers.
