April 6: Trust in the Lord

April 6: Trust in the Lord
Scripture: "Trust in the Lord and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed." — Psalm 37:3
Trust is the anchor of the soul. In the midst of uncertainty, we are called to lean not on our own understanding, but on the unfailing promises of God. We often spend so much energy worrying about what we can do, that we forget to contemplate what the Lord can do through us. Surrender is not a sign of weakness; it is the ultimate act of courage.
The mere hearing of sermons or reading the Bible "through and through" is of little benefit unless we bring those truths into our daily experience. Truth must move from the head to the heart. When we yield our will and affections to the Word of God, the Holy Spirit begins to transform our very principles of living.
God never calls us to follow Him and then forsakes us. If we surrender our lives to His service, we can be certain that He has already made provision for every position we find ourselves in. He is our strength and our song, the one who carries us when our own legs grow weary.
Walk in the light today. Meditate on the character of God—His beauty, His goodness, and His immeasurable love. When you do this, you will find yourself uplifted as if borne by "everlasting arms." You will accomplish more than you ever thought possible because you are no longer working in your own strength.
Reflection Questions:
What is one "reserve" I am still holding back from God?
How can I practically "bring the truth into my individual experience" today?
Do I truly believe that God has made "provision" for my current struggles?
