April 26: The Faithfulness of God

April 26: The Faithfulness of God

Scripture: "If we are faithless, He remains faithful; He cannot deny Himself." — 2 Timothy 2:13

Our faith often fluctuates like the tide, but the faithfulness of God is like the "Rock of Ages"—steady, immovable, and eternal. This is a bedrock Truth that can sustain us when our own strength fails. Even when we "blow it," God's character remains unchanged. He is "gracious, righteous, and full of mercy."

God’s faithfulness is seen in the consistency of the natural world. The sun rises every morning, and the seasons follow their appointed course. These are "promises written in the sky." If God is faithful to the "lesser things" of creation, how much more will He be faithful to the "greater things" of His children?

His faithfulness is our "strength and our song." We can rely on His promises because they are "anchored in the heavens." He has "cancelled all our sin" and "made us alive in Jesus Christ." This is not a "maybe" or a "hope so"; it is an accomplished Fact—a Truth that we can build our lives upon.

Rest in His faithfulness today. When your own heart condemns you, remember that "God is greater than our heart." He sees your potential through the lens of His Love. He will "protect and carry you all the days of your life." You are safe in the hands of the One who "cannot deny Himself."

Reflection Questions:
  1. In what specific way have I seen God's "faithfulness" in the past week?
  2. How does the "faithfulness of nature" encourage my spiritual trust?
  3. What does it mean that God "cannot deny Himself"?
