April 24: The Immeasurable Love

April 24: The Immeasurable Love

Scripture: "...that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend... the width and length and depth and height..." — Ephesians 3:17-18

The love of God is the most profound Truth in the universe. It is a "vast ocean" with no shore and no bottom. We can spend an eternity studying it and still only begin to understand its dimensions. This love is the "magnet" that draws our hearts away from the gravity of sin and toward the "heavenly places."

To be "rooted and grounded" in this love is to have a spiritual stability that nothing can shake. When we know we are loved with an "everlasting love," we are no longer desperate for the approval of people. We are no longer destroyed by failure or puffed up by success. Our identity is secure in the One who died for us.

This love is "immeasurable," but it is also practical. It reaches into the "depths" of our darkest moments and scales the "heights" of our greatest joys. It is a "power" that enables us to do things we never thought possible. When we are filled with the "fullness of God," His love flows through us to a world that is desperate for it.

Today, take a moment to "bask" in the immeasurable love of your Father. Let it "drive away all sorrow and mourning." Remember that you are a "member of His own household," chosen to be part of His family forever. You are not just a "nobody"; you are a "somebody" because God loves you.

Reflection Questions:
  1. How does being "rooted and grounded in love" change my response to criticism?
  2. What "depth" or "height" in my life do I need to invite God's love into today?
  3. How can I practically "comprehend" more of God's love through my study of the Bible?
