May 16: The Restoration of the Senses

Scripture: "Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then the lame shall leap like a deer..." — Isaiah 35:5-6

Sin "dulled" our "Plan A" senses. We no longer "see" the "glory of God" as clearly; we no longer "hear" His "voice" as distinctly. But God's "Plan B" includes the "Restoration of the Senses." He wants to "open our eyes" to see the "Truth" and "unstop our ears" to hear the "music of heaven."

Jesus’ "healing ministry" was a "sign" of this "Plan B." He "opened blind eyes" and "healed deaf ears" to show that He is the "Restorer of all things." He wants us to have "Spiritual Perception"—to "see" the "unseen realities" and to "hear" the "eternal truths" that the world misses.

Our "Physical Senses" are also part of this "Plan B." By following the "laws of health," we are "sharpening" our "senses." A "clean lifestyle" leads to a "clearer vision" and a "finer hearing." This is the Love of God in action—providing us with the "best possible experience" of His creation.

Ask God to "open your eyes" today. Seek the "Spiritual Vision" that sees "beauty" in the "brokenness" and "hope" in the "hardship." Let the Truth of His "restorative power" "unstop your ears" to hear His "whisper of love." You were designed to "perceive" the "Kingdom of God."
